What Fees to Watch Out For
A card with no annual or monthly fee can still carry hidden costs. Here are the three most common charges to check before applying.
FX Fee
Charged as a percentage of each transaction made in a foreign currency — typically 0%–2%. Even a 1.5% FX fee on a card you use abroad frequently can exceed what an annual-fee card would cost. Always check this rate.
ATM Withdrawal Fee
